Kids For Kindness: Collect and Donate Loose Change

Week two of Kids for Kindness challenged us to designate a jar/bank to collect loose change. As a family, we discussed and choose an organization for our change to be totaled and donated to once it is full. It's amazing how quickly loose change can add up. We decided to collect any loose change found in our pockets at the end of the day as well as any loose dollar bills in our wallet at the end of the week. The older boy kiddo agreed set aside 1/3 of his chore money to be added to the jar as well. I didn't have a proper jar available at the moment, so until I find one, we are going to borrow the girl kiddo's giant piggy bank.  She's a pretty cute piggy, don't you think?!

Picking out a charity to donate to was the tough part. There are so many great organizations and causes we are passionate about, it's hard to narrow it down to one. However, after much research and mulling, the kiddos and I finally selected First Book. Before bed story time is a pretty big deal in our house, so donating to a charity that distributes books to kids in need is a nice fit for our family. We look forward to filling up this jar!

What a wonderful organization to donate to. Thank you for sharing. It's so awesome that your boy is setting aside chore money! :)
